I think that it would be beneficial if we all used the same reasoning to determine which street was busiest. How do people feel about inquiring with the community boards in our respective neighborhoods?
I think that sounds like a great idea, Heidi. As one data point, here's some text from a forwarded email (to me from Nick from "Adam Karpati" akarpati@health.nyc.gov)
"The neighborhoods that comprise our target area are fairly separate.
Here is one idea for each of the 4 neighborhoods
1) Bed-Stuy: Fulton Street starting at Classon and heading east 2) Bushwick: Knickerbocker Avenue starting at Flushng and heading east 3) Brownsville: Pitkin Avenue starting at Eastern Parkway and heading east 4) East NY: Pennsylvania Avenue starting at Broadway Junction and heading south
Would Adam Karpati be a good contact for most commercial street for the other neighborhoods? Even people within the community boards may have slightly different opinions but if we get our info from one source, at least it'll be consistent.
I agree that community boards can be subjective. But I was thinking, since Adam Karpati suggested the first list we can ask the community boards what they think the most commercial street is.
Hopefully, they will match up. If they do I think that is a good indication that it is probably the most commercial street in the area.
Jessie: Are we allowed to email Adam Karpati about most commercial street in our neighborhoods? Thank you. (And yes, I found that 1.5 mi. note in my papers...thank you.)

Oh well great. We at least have a good starting point. This would be great to approach the community boards with.

I agree with Yat. I think that Adam Karpati is a good source since he is the guru of community health.
